TWFT is Doing Camp NaNoWriMo--Are You?

This summer, we (Race and I) pledge to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo (YWP). It's a virtual "summer camp" for writing sponsored by the people behind National Novel Writing Month/Script Frenzy. I'm cheating a little bit: the camps run in June and August, but I'm taking all three months to work on my personal goal of 70,000 words' worth of short stories. I've been doing novels for so long that I know the form of a good novel inside and out, while I'm still stumbling in terms of short stories and poetry. (Also, I went the short story route because I love the feeling of substantial achievement after each finished piece.)

Do I think I can "win" it? Yes and no. I'm honestly not sure how well I can prioritize. Because this summer, I'm editing for a non-profit literary journal, updating our new site after the old one crashed, studying the short story, reading self-help books, writing college application essays, visiting colleges, and taking remedial Health and P.E. (lol long story). Despite all that, though, I'm pretty excited about Camp NaNo. Not every story's going to be a winner, but I hope at least a few will be literary journal-worthy.

We'll be updating regularly about our progress--and it'd be awesome if you could join us!
